Popis územia
The site is located in the eastern part of the Považský Inovec mountain range. A linear habitat type along the Chotina watercourse in the north turn to a mosaic square habitats in the southern more rugged part of the site. Majority of the area is covered with the deciduous forest. The mesophilous meadows in the Chotina floodplain are preserved in fragments. Geomorphologically, the site is of a character of a valley with the marginal floodplain.
Ciele ochrany
Alder stands with a transition to the Asperulo-Fagetum beech forests, which turn to acidophilous oak forests. Part of the site is protected on a national level (Nature Reserve Čepúšky, Nature Reserve Kulháň).
