Popis územia
The site is situated in the north-east of the Vinohrady nad Váhom village. The loess sediments up to 10 m of a thickness form a basement. The relief is of a lowland hilly land character with the fluvial elements. Soils are loamy to sandy–loamy. Potential native vegetation is represented by the oak-hornbeam forests and xerophilous oak forests.
Ciele ochrany
The site is a part of the Dubník National Nature Reserve.
The best well-preserved habitats of the thermophilous oak woods in Slovakia.
Zraniteľnosť
The site is vulnerable due to the inappropriate forest management practices including planting of monocultures and spreading of invasive species, especially Robinia pseudoacacia.
